MarkHub24 successfully conducted an online masterclass titled “Making Power BI Dashboards for Marketers” on 23 August 2026 via Google Meet. The session was designed as a beginner-friendly introduction to Power BI, with a specific focus on helping marketing students and aspiring professionals understand the importance of data visualization and dashboard creation in the modern marketing landscape.

The masterclass was conducted by Anurag Lala, Founder & CEO of MarkHub24, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from learners interested in developing practical, industry-relevant analytical skills. The session was structured to ensure that even participants with little or no prior experience with Power BI could understand the platform and take their first steps towards creating meaningful visualizations.
In today's increasingly data-driven business environment, marketers are expected to look beyond creativity and communication. They are required to understand campaign performance, customer behaviour, conversions, return on investment, and several other metrics that influence business decisions. Keeping this evolving requirement in mind, the session aimed to introduce participants to Power BI as a tool that can help transform raw data into clear, visually understandable, and actionable insights.
The session began with an introduction to the role of data in marketing and why visualization is an important skill for contemporary marketers. Participants were introduced to the concept of dashboards and how they can simplify large volumes of data, making it easier for individuals and organisations to identify patterns and make informed decisions.
The practical segment of the masterclass focused on familiarising participants with the Power BI interface and its basic functionalities. Participants were guided through different sections of the platform and were introduced to the process of working with datasets. The session demonstrated how data tables and fields can be used to create different types of visuals, helping participants understand the fundamental workflow involved in dashboard creation.
A major highlight of the session was the hands-on demonstration of creating visualizations. Participants explored how simple datasets could be represented using different charts and graphical formats. The discussion covered the use of bar charts, column charts, donut charts, and KPI-style cards to present information in a concise and visually engaging manner.
The session also emphasised an important principle of data visualization: a good dashboard is not simply a collection of attractive charts; it should help users understand information and arrive at insights quickly. Participants were encouraged to think about the purpose behind every visualization and select charts based on the type of question they were trying to answer.
During the demonstration, participants also learned about the importance of selecting the correct aggregation for data, such as counting rather than summing values where appropriate. This introduced them to the idea that data interpretation requires careful attention, as an incorrectly configured visualization can lead to misleading conclusions.
The masterclass remained interactive throughout, with participants actively following the demonstration and engaging with the concepts being discussed. Questions and observations from participants added to the learning experience and helped make the session more practical and collaborative. The live format allowed learners to understand the process step by step rather than simply being introduced to theoretical concepts.
Anurag Lala also connected the technical concepts of Power BI back to the field of marketing. Participants were encouraged to consider how similar dashboards could be used to track and analyse marketing metrics such as campaign performance, leads, conversions, customer behaviour, and return on investment. This marketing-oriented perspective was central to the session and helped participants understand the practical relevance of learning data visualization skills.
The masterclass concluded with a broader discussion on the growing importance of analytical thinking for marketers. While creativity continues to be at the heart of marketing, the ability to interpret data and communicate insights is becoming an increasingly valuable capability. Tools such as Power BI can help marketers bridge the gap between data and decision-making by presenting complex information in a more accessible format.
Overall, “Making Power BI Dashboards for Marketers” was an insightful and engaging learning experience that introduced participants to the fundamentals of Power BI and data visualization. The session successfully created a starting point for learners who wish to explore analytics and dashboard creation further.
MarkHub24 extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who participated and contributed to making the masterclass interactive and meaningful. Through such initiatives, MarkHub24 continues its commitment to making practical, relevant, and future-focused learning accessible to students and aspiring professionals.
As the marketing industry continues to evolve, learning to combine creativity with analytical thinking will be essential. This masterclass was a step towards helping learners develop that combination and encouraging them to explore the world of data-driven marketing.
Keep learning. Keep growing.
